News: Conference Room Makeover

Giny Stott, their Database Co-ordinator, was bowled over: 'The work is wonderful, I really love it. It's completely transformed the Conference Room!' she said at a recent Suffolk Chamber Networking Lunch.

Was she talking about Spring cleaning fever at Felaw Maltings? Or, had the Chamber suddenly spent lots of money on redecorating? Perish both thoughts!

Suffolk Chamber of Commerce decided they needed to make their Conference Room more attractive and welcoming to Members and visitors using it for meetings. ArtsOptions had been telling them about how art can reflect and develop the image of a business, inspire customers and how a recent survey found that 73% of workers said they want art in their workplace. It also occurred to them that, as artists are themselves small businesses producing and selling their work, perhaps they should be considering them as potential members too, and if they showed Suffolk and East Anglian artists' work, that would complement their business.

So they invited ArtsOptions to provide work from their diverse and growing portfolio of 2D and 3D work and, under their Hire and Sell Option, to offer it for sale and change it on a regular basis.

From December to February they enjoyed the amazingly intricate collage work of Christine McKechnie. Now, from March to early June, ArtsOptions has installed two beautiful watercolours by Linda Wilson of boats at Woodbridge and Southwold, complementing perfectly the views from their windows!

.....so that's how they came to get their Conference Room makeover! And keep their staff happy too!
